Polit-Sheer Form Office(PSFO) is an art collective constituted by artists Hong Hao, Xiao Yu, Song Dong, Liu Jianhua, and curator/critic Leng Lin in 2005. The exhibition held at the Shanghai Gallery of Art marks the 5th anniversary of PSFO’s exhibition career by presenting a retrospective of their multi-disciplinary projects as well as exciting new works. In their joint endeavors they address the idea of “we” in a “me” world. For a society which has gradually abandoned “communal ideals “, Polit-Sheer Form Office presents a new kind of socialism based on the expansive possibilities of shared experiences. The group’s activities of talking, traveling, eating, reading, and playing together become both the content and form of their practice. The works presented here disseminate PSFO’s collective paradigm as a way to enrich political, cultural, and the spiritual life for 21st century mankind.

Over the same period, the “project space “at Shanghai Gallery of Art will also hold a solo exhibition for young artist Han Feng. Han Feng’s large-scale dreamlike paintings which are simple and elegant not only utilize his study in traditional Chinese paintings, but also combines the sense of harshness and wildness of modern art. His work “The Large Aircraft” won the first place in the “John Moore (Shanghai) Contemporary Painting Competition” in 2010, which was held by Shanghai Gallery of Art, Shanghai University of Fine Arts and the British John Moore Foundation. In the same year, he also took part in the Liverpool Biennial.
